The origin of the word amigo comes from the Latin “amicus”, which derives from the verb love, whose root “amma” refers to the first voice of the child calling his mother. In turn stands the origin of the term as derived from the Greek “a”: sin, “my”, “ego”: me.Therefore, we could say that friendship relates to love that is given from the origin of the human being in the first mother-son bond and that requires resignation from the self to give to the other. While the Friend's Day is celebrated around the world in commemoration on July 20, 1969, when astronaut Neil Amstrong first set foot on the Moon, Argentines turned this date into a real national holiday.
