What does a mural provide?

There are many murals today, on our streets and around the world, that can be considered derived from graffiti, but have been taking on artistic value, having greater finishing and aesthetic qualities. Welcome be! The  mura l is an important cultural manifestation: it embellishes a location, it is massive, it reaches many people not used to see art and makes such a place, for whom it circulates it, a reference, pleasant, friendly, impregnated space. Yes. Of course...Beautify! Whenever the artist considers the location and the space as an integral unit with his work to be performed. It loses effectiveness the mural of an artist who, by being a specialist, in a theme, such as being horses, landscapes or abstract shapes with vibrant colors, etc..., paints the mural with his specialty, only by habituality to do it. The mural made must gather its consonance with the surrounding culture, with elements in common to those neighbors who feel identified and represent it. Think about what the message is the key? It is important in this artistic manifestation, without neglecting its aesthetic, visual value, reflecting its context. 
Only then will you achieve your goal; otherwise it will be cuter or uglier, but superficial, without content, without that theme that will give you artistic value and even many times, contrary to the idea of beautifying, it will become even aggressive or visually confusing. So it will not fulfill that aesthetic function, enjoyable.
