Go to sectionAs a sad but successful coincidence, on June 4, Quartet Day , took one of the most beloved and emblematic musicians of this genre: Don Oscar , the author and creator of Las Chichis y las peponas , a historic quartet group characteristic.
Oscar was Santafesino, but at the age of 20 he settled in Cordoba and adopted everything that province had to offer him. There he found his passion and vocation: he gave himself body and soul to the quartet . With a voice that gave him an indisputable label, he was a very important figure of popular music and was also the one who imposed his unmistakable costume look in the quartet.
Oscar Horacio Lavalle — such was his full name — chose one more than symbolic day to leave us. On June 4 , while everyone in Córdoba celebrated Quartet Day , the mythical singer died in Alta Córdoba at the age of 85. The referents of the genre — what is now and those of ever— fired him with emotion and sadness.
Don Oscar left, but behind him is his legacy. He left here countless dances, unforgettable performances and the joy that his music brought and will continue to bring to every corner of the country.
