The fall of President Perón's government in 1955 paralyzed the advanced construction of the Pediatrics Hospital, which would replace the old Children's Hospital and Casa Cuna. But as a result of a fire in a poor village, an official on duty decided to house the victims who lost their homes in the abandoned building. This is how the Warnes Hostel was born, a building that was not in a position to accommodate anyone.

For four decades there were several squalid villas, in two buildings more than 100 meters long and with 10 floors, which were evicted on several occasions and reoccupied. It served as a hangout for marginal groups and storage for stolen objects. The garbage took up several floors.

Successive governments did not know how to realize an undertaking to resume the paralyzed works. In the early nineties the buildings were blown up with loads of dynamite.
