Chapter 21: Balcarce Gallery 50

It occupies the place of the alley where the carriages ran to Taylor Customs. When President Julio A. Roca commissioned the unification of the two buildings that make up the Casa Rosada (the Correos and the former Government House), the passage became a large covered courtyard that is entered through the arch Central Balcarce 50, also known as the Arch of Tamburiniby the Italian architect Francisco Tamburini, author of its design.

In this gallery, the plaster on which the sculpture of Gen. Manuel Belgranowas based, the work of the artist José Fioravanti, designed for the Monument to the Flag of the City of Rosario.
