The new Sustainable Housing Manual was presented by the Secretary of Environment

The new  Sustainable Housing Manual, which provides guidelines to promote  sustainability in the design, construction and use of neighborhoods and housing, was published by the Secretariat for Environment and Housing and Energy.

The environmental portfolio reported through a statement that the manual is aimed at provincial  housing  institutes and architects and engineers in the private sector who wish to incorporate the sustainable variable into their building projects.
The tool, developed with the support of the  Global Environment Facility    and the Inter-American Development Bank, also has a self-assessment of sustainability.

It serves as a reference guide for identifying measurable aspects of projects and contains the indicators to be used to evaluate the projects to be submitted.

The work achieved is part of a national strategy to promote construction and sustainable housing, composed of various initiatives, projects and policies promoted by the national Government.

Likewise, within the framework of the National Cabinet for  Climate Change , a  Sustainable  Construction Board was created where the different actions are planned to implement for the development and effective implementation of this strategy.

“This  Sustainable Housing Manual, which is the product of extensive inter-ministerial collaboration, focuses on different aspects of housing  construction  and provides recommendations aimed at improving its environmental performance; and it does so with the aim of contributing sustainability to the construction process and the use of housing in our country,” introduces Environment Secretary  Sergio Bergman  in the foreword to the publication.
