Bodega Mendoza will generate 10% of its electricity demand with photovoltaic energy

Trivento winery awarded the construction of a photovoltaic plant, which will generate 10% of its demand. It will demand an investment of $16.1 million.

The Trivento winery awarded the construction of a photovoltaic plant in the department of Maipú . This will generate 10% of its demand , and will become the largest work in clean sources in the province, in the field of the possibilities offered by distributed generation. The company reported that the company specializing in the development of energy solutions from renewable sources,  Energe  , was the winner of the work. This will demand an investment of $16.1 million .

 Energy produced 

With 918 panels , this plant will produce more than 505 MWh/year  of clean energy . This represents approximately 10% of the demand for its winery located in Maipú , Mendoza , the winery said. The investment, which exceeds $16.1 million, will contribute directly to the winery's environmental targets by 15% reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 2023 , the equivalent of planting 606 trees per year.

Targets assumed to contribute to SDG 13 Climate Action  also include measures already taken to implement an energy saving plan. Prior to the installation of the panels, he set out initiatives and investments ranging from simple practices, such as reviewing the shutdown of outdoor lighting, to the implementation of the ISO 50001 standard, which aims to continuously improve energy efficiency.

 Energe, a reference company 

The project was developed by the Mendoza company Energe . It has experience in the implementation of solar photovoltaic and thermal energy in industrial plants. Even with experiences in the wine sector, of which Trivento 's work is the largest.

 Mendoza is not only the main Argentine wine region. Also, due to its climatic characteristics and height, it is among the provinces with the highest annual direct solar irradiation (with an average of 55-60 kWh/m2 day), according to data from the Ministry of Finance and the Institute of Energy and Development  Sustainable.

Distributed generation allows the use of renewable sources , such as sun , wind , river water , biomass and others, to generate electric energy for self-consumption, and in turn inject surplus energy to the distribution network.

Distributed generation equipment is solar panels, small wind turbines or other technologies that can be installed in industries,  SMEs and households  , to generate economic savings.oacute; mic in the electricity bill and contributing to the mitigation of climate change.
